SQUIRREL...S!?!

Remember a little while ago we had some problems with squirrels in the walls?  We thought we had gotten rid of them and blocked up all of the places where they were getting in... we thought.

This past weekend, while i was innocently reading my book on the couch and Grayden was napping I heard them in the walls again.
And this is what I saw when I looked up...
That little squirrel had climbed up the wall and was looking down at us from the track of the sliding door!
While he was looking at us, I heard one in the floor and one in the entrance hall wall somewhere.  So we knew he was not alone!

There was nothing we could really do at this point, but hope they get out on thier own and try to figure out where they are getting in and close it up!

Yesterday, Don and Grayden got home to find a squirrel running around in the living room.
Don chased him into the entrance hall and the squirrel jumped on the screen trying to get out.  Don put on his leather work gloves and grabed him.  The squirrel took two deep breaths and died.  We think he must have been scared to death... literally.

After He got this one he found another one hiding under the wood burning stove.  He chased it into the kitchen and caught him too.

We knew that there was at least 1 more though.

After I got home, heard the stories and saw the pictures we all went outside to play before dinner.
Don went in the house to get something and shortly after I hear banging around and a lot of yelling.
I ran in the house to find Don chasing another squirrel around the house.

I have to say, watching Don chase this squirrel around the house makes me think of an old favorite...

After Don took him out to be with his friends...
We thought we had them all... we were wrong!

When Don came back in the 4th and (hopefully) final squirrel was trying to escape out the front door.  But the screen door was in his way.

We quickly shut the door so he was trapped!

But now we just had a squirrel trapped in between our front doors.

We had to get him out!

And that, I hope, is the end of the squirrel saga!
We found a hole ripped open in the basement window screen.  Now that they are all out of the house we will repair the screen and hope that no other critters make it into the house again!!!
